Terms of Service

Welcome to HandyDanny Repairs, proudly serving Northside Chicago communities and surrounding areas. We offer comprehensive electronic repair services for individual consumers and businesses. These Terms of Service govern the use of electronic repair services provided by HandyDanny Repairs LLC, hereinafter referred to as "HandyDanny Repairs."


A Few Terms

When we use “HandyDanny”, "HandyDanny Repairs", or terms like “we”, “us”, or “our” in these Terms of Service, we are referring to HandyDanny Repairs LLC, our subsidiaries, and affiliates.
When we use terms like “you” and “your,” we are referring to you as a visitor to our website or as a user of HandyDanny products and services, whether as an individual or a business.


Services Overview

HandyDanny Repairs provides electronic device repair services through curbside pickup, in-person drop-off, and mail-in services. We cater to a wide range of devices, including smartphones, laptops, desktops, and tablets. By using our services, you agree to comply with these terms.


Service Requests

  • Curbside Pickup: Ensure that the device is securely packaged and handed over to HandyDanny’s representative. You are responsible for removing any SIM cards, memory cards, or accessories not necessary for the repair.
  • Mail-In Devices: You are responsible for all shipping costs and ensuring the device is securely packaged. The order amount must be equal to or greater than the shipping amount. If the order amount is less than the shipping amount, the order may be canceled, and you will be notified of the cancellation. HandyDanny will not be responsible for damage or loss of the device during shipping.


Your Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for removing any SIM cards, memory cards, or accessories not necessary for the repair. HandyDanny is not liable for any lost accessories.
  • It is your responsibility to inform HandyDanny of any known issues or prior damage before repair.


Business Service Request Terms

By using HandyDanny Repairs services, including repairs, maintenance packages, remote support, and on-site visits, you agree to the following these Terms of Service:

  • On-Site Service & Travel Fees
    On-site service is available for businesses that require repairs that cannot be resolved remotely.
    On-Site Service Rate: This service is billed per hour, with a minimum charge of one hour.
    Travel Fees: For on-site service outside of a 5-mile radius from the center of Chicago, travel fees will apply. These fees will be confirmed before the service is scheduled and are non-refundable. Travel fees cover the technician’s travel time and expenses.
  • Remote Support
    Remote Support is available for software issues, basic troubleshooting, and minor repairs that can be addressed through a phone call or remote connection.
    Remote support is billed per 30-minute session.
    Hardware-related issues require an on-site visit and are not eligible for remote support.
  • Monthly and Quarterly Maintenance Packages
    Our Maintenance Packages are available to both individual users and businesses. These packages include routine maintenance, software updates, virus protection, and priority service for all your electronic devices. The package is billed on a recurring monthly basis.
    The fee for Monthly and Quarterly Maintenance Packages is non-refundable.
    Services included in the package are limited to basic maintenance and software troubleshooting. Hardware repairs or replacements are not included but can be provided at an additional cost.
    You may cancel your Maintenance Package at any time with 30 days’ notice. Cancellations will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
    Pricing for Maintenance Packages varies depending on your business needs (or individual requirements).


Estimates and Fees

We will conduct an initial diagnosis to provide an estimated cost of repair. All estimates are subject to change if further issues are discovered during the repair process.


Payment for Service

Payment in full for repairs and services must be rendered prior to picking up a device. A non-refundable repair deposit may be required for repairs that require a special order to be placed.


Device Warranty and Repairs

  • Limited Warranty: HandyDanny Repairs provides a 60-day limited warranty on repairs for the specific issue repaired. This warranty only covers the specific components repaired or replaced by HandyDanny Repairs.
  • Warranty Exclusions
    HandyDanny does not offer warranties or guarantees, explicit or implicit, on any of the following:
    • Any service using parts not purchased through HandyDanny Repairs.
    • Any software issues, including virus removal, or operating system installation.
    • New symptoms/issues not directly tied to the original service within the 60-day guarantee period.
    • Installing new hardware or modifying existing hardware in the 60-day guarantee period.
    • RMA/shipping return costs.


Responsibility to Pick Up Devices

Due to space limitations, HandyDanny requests that you pick up your device when informed about repair completion. If your device is left with HandyDanny and is not picked up within 60 days after being notified by us, HandyDanny will consider your device abandoned and may dispose of your device in accordance with applicable law.
You agree to hold HandyDanny harmless for any damage or claim for the abandoned property (as stated in the HandyDanny Terms of Service page on handydannyrepairs.com), which we may discard or recycle at our sole discretion 60 days from you being notified that your product has been serviced


Shipping and Risk

For mail-in repairs:
The risk of loss or damage passes to you once the device has been shipped to us by a carrier.
When shipping the repaired device back to you, HandyDanny will use standard shipping services. The risk of loss or damage during return shipping will also rest with the customer and carrier unless you opt for insured or expedited shipping at an additional cost.


Shipping Returns

HandyDanny Repairs offers a 30-day return shipping policy for any items that are deemed faulty upon receipt. There is a 5% non-refundable bank fee applied to all returns. Customers must reach out for an RMA approval and can then proceed to send back their items within the 30-day period since the order was placed.


Repair Attempt Fee

We charge a $20-$50 repair attempt fee if our repair attempt is unsuccessful to cover labor and delivery. 

 

Right to Refuse Service

HandyDanny Repairs reserves the right to refuse service to any customer at its sole discretion, including but not limited to cases involving suspected fraud, illegal activity, abusive behavior, or unreasonable demands. In such cases, any payments made for services will be refunded in accordance with the applicable cancellation policies.
 

No Guarantee of Data Recovery

HandyDanny Repairs does not guarantee the recovery or preservation of any data or files on your device. It is your responsibility to back up any data before providing your device for service. HandyDanny will not be liable for any loss of data.


Data Privacy

We take data privacy seriously. Any personal or sensitive information stored on the device will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. However, you are advised to remove or secure any confidential data before submitting the device for repair.


Use of Photos for Marketing

By submitting your device for repair, you agree that HandyDanny may take photographs of the repair process, completed repairs, or your device for the purpose of marketing, promotion, and showcasing our work on various platforms such as our website, social media, and advertising materials. 


Cancellation 

Customers who wish to cancel or reschedule a scheduled repair appointment must notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may be subject to a cancellation fee, which helps cover the time and resources allocated for your service. We strive to offer flexible service and appreciate your understanding in helping us maintain efficient scheduling.

Refund Processing and Fees:

  • If you choose to cancel and are eligible for a refund, please be aware that payment processors (such as Square, Cash App, or Zelle) may charge a refund fee once the refund is processed and the funds are transferred back to your account. This fee will be taken directly from the refunded amount after it is deposited into your bank account.
  • The refund fee is charged by the payment processor and is not controlled by us. Unfortunately, we are unable to cover or absorb these fees.

Chargebacks and Disputes:

  • Customers are encouraged to contact us directly with any concerns or issues related to services rendered. In the event of a chargeback or dispute with your payment processor, we reserve the right to contest the chargeback and provide evidence of the services rendered or cancellation terms.
  • Should a chargeback occur, you may be liable for any additional fees incurred as a result, including but not limited to chargeback fees from payment processors and administrative costs related to resolving the dispute.
  • Refunds will be processed within 5–7 business days from the date of cancellation, though the actual time it takes for the funds to appear in your account depends on your bank and the payment processor.
  • Please note that refunds can only be issued to the original payment method, and any issues or delays related to the payment processor or bank are outside of our control.


Force Majeure

HandyDanny Repairs shall not be held responsible for delays or failures in performance resulting from events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, strikes, or other unforeseen circumstances.


Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law: HandyDanny Repairs shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to the loss of data, loss of income, or business interruption, that arise from the use of our services. In no event shall HandyDanny Repair’s total liability to you exceed the amount paid by you for the specific repair service requested.

By scheduling a service with us, you agree that we are not liable for any delays, errors, or losses that may occur as a result of payment processor issues, including delays in refunds, processing fees, chargebacks, or transaction errors.

We also disclaim any responsibility for fees incurred as a result of customer cancellations, disputes, or third-party payment processor policies.


Indemnification

By using our services, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless HandyDanny Repairs LLC, its employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to the use of our repair services.


Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.


Modification of Terms

HandyDanny reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time without prior notice. Any such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting on HandyDanny's website or other notification to you.


Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois. For any dispute with HandyDanny Repairs with respect to this Terms of Service customer agrees to first contact us at contact@handydannyrepairs.com and attempt to resolve the dispute with us informally. 

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the provision of our services shall be resolved through arbitration.

In the event that we are not able to resolve your dispute, both parties agree to resolve any claim, dispute, controversy or legal proceeding arising out of or in connection with or relating to this Terms of Use Agreement, use of HandyDanny's website and any services and/or products, including any breach or alleged breach thereof (collectively, “Claims”), by binding, individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association for consumer-related disputes (AAA”). 

Each party shall pay for its own costs to Arbitrate and that any Arbitration, dispute resolution or legal proceeding related to this HandyDanny's website, the services, products, and/or this Terms of Use Agreement shall be brought and take place exclusively in the Illinois.
